Bagmane Aquila
Interlocking for Greater Interactivities
Bagmane Aquila is a LEED Gold-certified building located in Bagmane Constellation Business Park. It serves as a multi-tenanted IT office building designed for a natural and optimal footprint with richly landscaped plazas and amenity spaces.
The idea was to create an office building which incorporates access to the amenities of the business park, which flow from the adjacent open space tucked into the five-storey volume of the entrance area.
To do so, a key consideration in the design was the climate of the area which is generally salubrious. The approach to spatial planning takes cognisance of the sun path for the right orientation of the building and the proximity of the lake for natural breeze in the planned outdoor amenity areas. The overall fenestration area is 40% with double-glazed units of high-performance reflective glass providing better thermal comfort.





The massing is composed of interlocking boxes with a combination of masonry and glazed façade. Iconic V-columns support the volume above the main entry and drop off area, which is 5 storeys high and provides a grand experiential space with a landscaped plaza and seamlessly connects the main lobby and the amenity spaces.



The amenity area of the development adjacent to the site is incorporated as an extension of the plaza. The Southern elevation being the most visible frontage of the building is treated with glazing with vertical fins and expressed mullions, while the Northern façade which is facing service areas in the internal development is specified to less expensive levels. The masonry and window arrangement of the eastern and western faces also minimise heat gain.
