School of Science and Technology
A school of the future
The School of Science and Technology is a premier institution that offers an innovative and vibrant learning experience in the fields of Science, Technology, Art, Engineering and Mathematics for students between 13-16 years of age.
The school occupies a land area of 30,000sqm with its programmes divided among an administrative block, classroom block, science block and sports hall block.
Details
Each block is oriented towards the north-south direction to minimise exposure to heat and glare of the eastern and western sun.
Spaces between the blocks are integrated with a mixture of eco-landscapes and hard courts for outdoor activities. The blocks are linked via external bridges.
As the sixth school designated by Singapore’s Ministry of Education as a Future School, the design reflects SST’s intent to enhance the student and teacher experience through its curriculum, pedagogy, technology and infrastructure.
Circulation spaces within the blocks are injected with breakaway and chill-out spaces for interactive collaboration between students.
The elevation design is closer to that of a tertiary institution, breaking away from traditional secondary school architectural typology.
